Brooklyn Teen Gets 19 Years To Life For Starting A Fire That Led To Death Of NYPD Officer!

Brooklyn Teen Fire

A Brooklyn teen has been sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for starting a fire that led to the death of an NYPD officer more than two years ago. Marcell Dockery was found guilty of murder and arson last month for setting a mattress on fire in the hallway of a Coney Island apartment building in April 2014. Dockery was 16 at the time of the incident. NYPD Officer Dennis Guerra and his partner, Officer Rosa Rodriguez, responded to the fire and suffered from smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. Guerra later died. The Brooklyn DA’s office says Dockery, who lived in the building, admitted to starting the fire out of boredom.
